George Fox University announces an adjunct faculty position in Computer Science, to begin in January 2019.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary teaching responsibilities involve three weekly lectures in the computer science major course CSIS 202 Introduction to Computer Science II. Two sections need to be filled. 
  • Course Description: A foundational course for the study of computer science and information systems, it covers an overview of programming methodology and gives the student an ability to write computer programs using standard style and structure. Programming projects are completed in one or more high-level languages.  Prerequisite: CSIS 201 Introduction to Computer Science I.
  • The two sections of lectures are scheduled for MWF 2:00-2:50PM and MWF 3:00-3:50PM.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or higher is required in Computer Science or another related field with preference given to candidates holding an advanced degree.
  • Applicants should have professional experience in related industries and/or teaching experience in related fields.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
