George Fox University announces a full-time, instructor position in the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, to begin as early as January 2022 or as late as August 15, 2022. This 24-credit position is to lead a cohort preparing for the Oregon Preliminary Teaching License and to provide instruction for a variety of courses throughout the program to candidates who are seeking a teaching license/endorsement.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching courses mostly within the MAT department. The courses may include: Professional Educator, Diverse Populations, Curriculum and Instruction, Assessment, Classroom Management and Action Research, as well as literacy and/or math pedagogy.


  • Master's Degree at minimum
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential
  • Licensed teacher at the elementary level or an elementary math or literacy specialist, with recent experience
  • Commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred
  • Must be available to teach on the Portland Center campus as well as virtually
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
  • Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S. and employees of George Fox University must be a resident of one of the following states: Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, New York, Ohio, or Texas.
