Adjunct Instructor, Project Management

George Fox University's College of Business is seeking a part-time adjunct instructor to teach project management. The successful candidate will have practical experience and expertise in project management and will be enthusiastic about educating the next generation of business students in our growing programs.


Class sections available:


  • There are two class sections that run twice a week.
    • Classes run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:25 pm to 2:40 pm and from 2:50 pm to 4:05 pm, with some potential flexibility.

Course description:

This course will prepare students to skillfully use fundamental project management concepts and behavioral skills to effectively plan and lead project work. Specifically, through practical, hands-on work, case studies, and exercises, students will learn to manage project resources, schedules, tasks, time/cost tradeoffs, risks, and scope to produce desired organizational outcomes. Importantly, since most project teams are comprised of internal and external resources which are often distributed geographically, students will become knowledgeable and skillful at recognizing and overcoming the challenges of leading distributed teams. In short, this course will provide a sense of confidence with planning and oversight throughout all phases of a project's life cycle.


Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Primary teaching responsibilities:
    • Face-to face-class time, hands-on work and practical projects in the area of project management.
  • Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
  • Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher in management or another related business field.
  • PMI certification.
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, organization, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

  • Primary Work Location: Newberg Campus.
  • Working Conditions: Physical requirements are similar to those of teaching environments.

  • Compensation: Adjunct faculty are paid on a per credit hour basis, commensurate with education and experience.
