George Fox University announces an adjunct position in Sociology, to begin in January 2019.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide classroom instruction of one section of: SOCI 220 Men and Women in Society. Examine how societies construct gender similarities and differences.
- This course takes a sociological approach to studying the impact of gender upon individuals and social institutions, and the implications of a sociological understanding of gender for the Christian faith will be explored.
- Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts. Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers in a timely manner. Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions. Maintain student attendance records, grades, and other required records, and record these in university system in a timely manner. Schedule office hours for individual instruction as needed.
- Lectures are scheduled for Wed. 6:30-9:00 PM.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Sociology required; Ph.D. preferred. An applicant who holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology combined with a graduate degree in a related field (e.g. Social Work, Criminal Justice) will be considered.
- Teaching experience at the college level preferred.
- A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
