Adjunct Professor of French

George Fox University seeks an adjunct instructor in French for the 2018-19 academic year.  The instructor will teach French acquisition courses and be responsible for the language labs associated with each course for the 2018-2019 academic year.

The World Languages and Applied Linguistics department's goal is for French students to achieve an Intermediate High oral proficiency level enabling and encouraging them to continue their study and practice of French in a formal or immersive setting. Our French courses support that goal and prepare students for the Study Abroad requirement of the French Minor. We are eager to find a colleague who will join us in pursuing this goal.

Responsibilities include:

• Teaching French language acquisition and lab courses at the beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.
• The candidate must be available to teach morning courses.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree is required.

• Superior oral proficiency in French or native speaker of French.

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential.
• A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
• All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and Rank

This is a one-year adjunct appointment teaching three courses per semester. Salary is competitive with comparable institutions.
