Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology

George Fox University announces a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Graduate School of Clinical Psychology (GSCP) to begin in August 2020.  The nine-month, tenure track position includes a 24-hour credit load divided between the fall and spring semester. The preferred applicant will have a PsyD, PhD or EdD, be license-eligible in Oregon, have post-graduate training or experience in clinical training, administration, and the supervision of graduate students. Ongoing and future interest in developing a research agenda relevant to health service psychology.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborative leadership in the clinical training program, including the role of Associate Director of Clinical Training and the teaching of the foundation clinical training courses in the students' first year of the program. Teaching other courses, collaboratively selected according to GSCP school needs.
  • Lead a clinical team as a clinical team mentor providing case consultation, training according to our clinical competency model, participate in the Clinical Intervention and Assessment qualifying exam.
  • Ability to develop and sustain an ongoing program of relevant scholarship.
  • Participation in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.

Qualifications

  • PhD, PsyD, or EdD in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • License-eligible as a clinical psychologist in OR.
  • Experience in clinical training and administration.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • A record of relevant scholarship and plans for ongoing research related to psychological assessment.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
  • Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.

Salary and Rank

This academic appointment is at the Assistant Professor level  Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
