Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology

George Fox University announces a tenure-track faculty position in the Graduate School of Clinical Psychology (GSCP) to begin in August 2019.  The nine-month, tenure track position includes a 24-hour credit load divided between the fall and spring semester. Preferred applicant will have a PsyD, PhD or EdD, be license-eligible in OR, have post-graduate training or experience in the following, assessment and neuropsychological assessment, supervision of graduate students, and clinical experience in providing comprehensive and neuropsychological assessment. Ongoing and future interest in developing research agenda relevant to the assessment competency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach the Cognitive Assessment Course (four credits), Comprehensive Assessment (three credits) and collaborate in the development and/or teaching of advanced assessment courses. Teaching other courses, collaboratively selected according to GSCP school needs.
  • Provide supervision/oversight of the students' assessments for assessment clinic or assessments completed in academic course.
  • Lead a clinical team as a clinical team mentor providing case consultation, training according to our clinical competency model, participate in the Clinical Intervention and Assessment qualifying exam.
  • As Director of Assessment Clinic, supervise workflow of clinic including, assessment triage and distribution of assessments across students, supervision of practicum students and adjunct clinical training assessment supervisors.
  • Ability to develop and sustain an ongoing program of relevant scholarship.
  • Participation in the work of the department and the university, including advising and serving on university committees as needed.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D., PsyD or EdD in clinical or counseling psychology.
  • License-eligible as a clinical psychologist in OR.
  • Clinical experience in psychological assessment and neuropsychological assessment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • A record of relevant scholarship and plans for ongoing research related to psychological assessment.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.
  • Candidates must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.

Salary and Rank

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.  Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
