Assistant or Associate Professor of Exercise Science

George Fox University announces a tenure-track faculty position in Department of Health and Human Performance, to begin in August 2018.  The candidate selected for the position will teach courses that support out exercise science program and other related majors. Exercise Science is a fast-growing major and candidates should be prepared to facilitate development of the major to meet student needs and career plans.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Faculty will teach, advise, and engage in the work of the Department of Health and Human Performance. Service and scholarship are expected of all University tenure-track Expectations include:

• Work to connect classroom and laboratory learning with the practical world through field experience or practicums.

Qualifications

• BOC Athletic Training certification
• An earned doctorate in Exercise Science or related field;
• Undergraduate teaching experience is preferred;
• A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
• All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a local church. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and Rank

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.  Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
