Assistant/Associate Professor of Marketing

George Fox University invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor in Marketing beginning in August 2018. The position involves teaching undergraduate, MBA, and DBA courses in marketing; a demonstrated excellence and passion in teaching; an ability to develop and sustain a research agenda; participation in service, including advising and mentoring.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Undergraduate and graduate teaching responsibilities would involve delivering courses in two or more of the following areas: principles of marketing, consumer behavior, digital marketing, marketing communications, marketing management, marketing research, and marketing strategy.
  • For the D.B.A. program that offers a concentration in marketing, there are opportunities to teach research, lead marketing seminars, and serve on dissertation committees.
  • Ability to develop and sustain a research agenda.
  • Participation in the work of the College of Business and the university, including academic advising, serving on university committees as needed, and reaching out to the local business community. 

Qualifications

  • B.A or Ph.D. in Marketing or related field in business required. Applicants who are ABD will be considered, but priority will be given to those with an earned terminal degree in the field.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching is essential.
  • A record of relevant scholarship is preferred.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of students is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • All applicants must express a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and provide a statement of how they integrate their Christian faith into their teaching and scholarly activities. In addition, professors agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith.

Salary and Rank

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.  Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
