George Fox Connect is seeking a full-time Online Program Director to oversee the creation of online technology degree programs, specifically Data Analytics and Cybersecurity. After the development of curriculum, they will be tasked with teaching, coordinating adjuncts, and supervising ongoing revisions and improvements. Poised for growth, GFC is an innovative branch of George Fox Digital that houses degree completion, K-12 initiatives, and strategic business partnerships. The Online Program Director of Technology Programs is a faculty-administrator position that is half-time teaching and half-time administrative.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Outline and oversee the development of online technology bachelor's degree programs in Data Analytics and/or Cybersecurity.
  • Work alongside the Associate Dean to seek out new adjunct faculty members to support enrollment growth.
  • Supervise online faculty; recruit and train new faculty members as needed, including maintenance of George Fox Connect online adjunct training in collaboration with Associate Dean.
  • Manage the adult degree program's general education course coordination.
  • Motivate, mentor, evaluate, and coach adjunct faculty.
  • Identify challenges online students face and create action plans to proactively address student challenges and improve student satisfaction and graduation rates.
  • Provide and ensure that the online classroom supports student learning outcomes and a quality learning experience.
  • Gather data from students, staff, and faculty about how to improve operations to provide students with a better online learning experience and success rates.
  • Manage Canvas faculty course sites for two content areas, approving syllabi and Canvas course sites as appropriate.
  • Attend regular GFC Operations Meetings and OPD Meetings, working closely with other OPDs, the Associate Dean, the Operations Manager, the Registrar, and Admissions/Enrollment staff to ensure excellence.
  • Plan and coordinate GFC Adjunct Faculty Meetings in collaboration with Associate Dean.
  • Provide academic advising for students in their program, as needed.
  • Contribute to program curriculum content as needed, coordinating efforts with the Associate Dean for George Fox Connect and appropriate Enterprise Deans.
  • Teach an online course load of 12-15 credits across 11 months.
  • By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.

Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a relevant field preferred; master's degree required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and ongoing commitment to continuous improvement within field of expertise.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in online teaching and learning, and ability to teach those methods to affiliated faculty, specifically during onboarding processes.
  • Ability to manage a large set of remote faculty, providing them with timely professional development and assuring their consistent quality with teaching diverse student populations.
  • Conceptual understanding of andragogy for crafting curriculum to serve the best interests of adult learners.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to function as part of a highly-collaborative team in the rapid production of online materials and courses.
  • A commitment to working with diverse populations.

Salary and Rank

The Online Program Director is a faculty-administrator position. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
