The College of Business is the largest academic unit by enrollment in the university with approximately 320 undergraduate students, 65 MBA students, and 60 DBA students. Courses for the undergraduate business and economics programs, the full-time MBA program and the DBA program are offered on our main campus in Newberg, Oregon. Courses for the part-time MBA program are offered at our center in Portland (Tigard), Oregon. The College's programs are accredited by ACBSP.

Position Purpose:

Maintaining high quality academic outcomes in a virtual environment requires adaptability, careful attention to detail, and a willingness to engage in continual improvement practices. The Online Program Manager assures that all courses in their virtual learning ecosystem are well-constructed, thoughtfully administered by well-informed and qualified faculty, and provide students with the best opportunity to complete their programs and achieve life aspirations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide and ensure that the online classroom supports student learning outcomes and a quality learning experience.
  • Oversight and accountability of gathering data from students, staff, and faculty about how to improve operations to provide students with a better online learning experience and success rates.
  • Identify challenges online students face and create action plans to proactively address student challenges and improve student satisfaction and graduation rates.
  • Supervise online faculty; recruit and train new faculty members as needed, including maintenance of George Fox Connect online adjunct training in collaboration with Associate Dean.
  • Conduct ongoing performance evaluations, motivate, mentor, and coach faculty.
  • Plan and coordinate adjunct faculty meetings in collaboration with Associate Dean.
  • Provide academic advising for students in their program, as needed.
  • Contribute to program curriculum content as needed, coordinating efforts with the Associate Dean for George Fox Connect and appropriate Enterprise Deans.
  • Teach an online course load of 12-15 credits across 11 months

Requirements:

Must possess a master's degree in an affiliated field (terminal degree is preferred) and demonstrate an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement within that field.

Must have a strong understanding of best practices in online teaching and learning, and have the ability to teach those methods to affiliated faculty, specifically during onboarding processes.

Must be able to manage a large set of remote faculty, providing them with timely professional development and assuring their consistent quality with teaching diverse student populations.

Should maintain a strong conceptual understanding of andragogy for crafting curriculum to serve the best interests of adult learners.

Must have strong communication skills and be able to function as part of a highly-collaborative team in the rapid production of online materials and courses.

Will work alongside the Associate Dean to seek out new faculty members to support enrollment growth.
