Visiting Assistant Professor for Kinesiology

George Fox University announces a non-tenure track faculty position in Kinesiology, to begin in August 2021. Full-time and half-time applicants will be considered. The Department of Kinesiology is seeking a faculty member that is enthusiastic about providing engaging and effective instruction and mentoring to undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will have experience with classroom, clinical, and remote instruction. Further, experience with academic advising is highly valued.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Teach a full-time course load for Fall and Spring Semesters (Visiting Professor: 30

credits teaching per year).

• Maintain a high standard in classroom teaching through engaging and effective instruction, exhibiting awareness and understanding of best practices in undergraduate education through application in the classroom, and remaining current with issues, curriculum, and classroom approaches in the Kinesiology discipline.
• Engage in scholarship that contributes to the advancement of Exercise Science as a profession
• Participate in the work of the department and the university
• Participate in the ongoing and innovative work of the Department of Kinesiology.
• Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Kinesiology professionals and other campus educators.

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Kinesiology related field is required; Doctoral degree in

• Teaching experience in a higher education institution is preferred.

Salary and Rank

Appointment at the Assistant Professor level is anticipated, though candidates with significant teaching experience at previous institutions may be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor. Salary and benefits are competitive with comparable institutions.
